Course Background

This course is designed for everyone whose job involves entry into confined spaces.

Brief Outline Of Course

The aim of the course is to provide theoretical and practical training for any person who may have to work in a confined space that is hazardous-gas free at the time of entry.

Course Content

The course covers the Health and Safety at Work Act and the regulations relevant to the construction industry. It includes:

Common hazards and ways of avoiding them
Safety precautions
Unsafe atmosphere, including gas monitoring
Safety equipment and its use, including harness, winch and escape, breathing apparatus
Hygiene
Practical training
