Manual Handling Risk Assessment
Book NowLegislation
Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, as amended in 2002, apply to a wide range of manual handling activities, including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying. The load may be either inanimate - such as a box or trolley - or animate - a person or an animal.
The Regulations require employers to:
- Avoid the need for hazardous manual handling, so far as is reasonably practicable.
- Assess the risk of injury from any hazardous manual handling that can't be avoided.
- Reduce the risk of injury from hazardous manual handling, so far as is reasonably practicable.
Methodology
Workplace Fire & Safety Ltd will undertake a detailed assessment of the manual handling operations that your staff are required to complete in the course of their duties.
The assessment will outline, with recommendations, what should be implemented to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation. These recommendations could include a requirement for manual handling training, more appropriate systems of work or mechanised lifting systems.
Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
